welcome for Mr Evans after his work in Argentina

Mr Craig Evans received a hero's welcome along with a very special
cake at a party to mark his return to school after spending two
terms in Argentina.
Class 2CL made him a crown, a cape, a certificate, a necklace, a
calendar, banners, a red carpet to walk on and even a cake with
his photo on it!
The class
wanted to do these things for him because of all the work he
did helping young children in the barrios of Buenos Aires.
Mr Evans taught these children how to play instruments and also
took lots of things from SAC students, like pencils, textas, toothbrushes
and toothpaste. The children in centres like Fatima felt very happy
and special.
When Mr Evans walked into the Year 2 classroom he was surprised
by all the work the students had done to welcome him - in fact,
he liked walking down the red carpet so much that he did it again!
He then sat down on his
'throne' and looked at some of the banners that had messages like:
'Welcome back Saint Craig'.
Then he told the class
about how they and the rest of SAC had helped 'change the world'.
'I have photos of children
over there who had no smiles when I arrived but when I left, they
all had smiles because of the things you sent them,' he said.

'It shows that if you try, you can change the world.'
After that he cut his
welcome cake and then taught the girls the 'cup dance' while Ms
Lewis, Ms Simpson and Lisa shared the cake with everyone.
Mr Evans told the Year
2 students it was the 'best party he had ever been to'. He also
said that his work helping Argentinean students was not finished.
He is now planning to
start an organisation which will continue to help his friends in
the barrios of Argentina
