Behind the Mics with Professor Steer

Our Year 8 Digital Technology students had the incredible opportunity to interview Professor Mike Steer, Executive Director of SARDI (South Australian Research and Development Institute), for their class podcast!

Professor Steer shared his expert insights into the current algal bloom affecting South Australian beaches, explaining the science behind what’s happening, how the bloom is being monitored, and the impact it has on our marine environment and local communities. 

Our students asked thoughtful, well-researched questions and were genuinely inspired by the conversation, especially learning how science and digital technologies are used together to protect our coastlines.
