“The teachers supported me to be the best that I can by taking a keen interest in my learning, always willing to offer extra support. I will be leaving St Aloysius College as a strong, confident, well-educated woman who is prepared for the future.”

Grace, year 12 student

secondary program – years 7 to 12

We believe that every student is a capable learner who will find their strengths and pathways at St Aloysius College. Your daughter’s curiosity about the world around her is nurtured through engagement in meaningful and high-quality learning experiences. She will be motivated, inspired and supported by our teachers to achieve outstanding academic success and embrace the future with courage and confidence.

In Years 7 to 9, our curriculum provides a broad foundation encompassing all learning areas of the Australian Curriculum and Religious Education. This enables your daughter to discover and develop her personal capabilities, strengths and interests.

All students study a language during Years 7 to 8 – choosing from Chinese (Mandarin), French or Italian – and many continue into Years 9 to 12. We also offer Stage 1 and 2 Beginners Indonesian from Year 10. Languages students also have the opportunity to participate in Study Tour and Exchange opportunities.

Senior students commence SACE subjects in Year 10 with the Exploring Identities and Future (EIF) then undertake the Stage 2 Activating Identities and Futures (AIF) in Year 11. This allows them to develop invaluable skills which are transferrable to other subjects in both Stages 1 and 2, while also providing greater flexibility with subject choices in Year 12. Through our Career Education program, as well as opportunities to access Vocational Education Training courses, our senior students are prepared for academic and vocational pathways.

Our Reception to Year 12 Curriculum showcases broad offerings for Primary and Middle School students, developing into a wide spectrum of options for Secondary students.

Our teachers differentiate their curriculum to meet student needs. Those with specific learning and language needs are supported with the expert assistance of the Learning Support Team and the English as an Additional Language Team. The wellbeing of our students is also supported by specific programs embedded across our curriculum. Students are further supported by opportunities that inspire passion and purpose inside and outside of the classroom.

Student engagement, high quality teaching and an inclusive learning environment combine to ensure that our students continue to graduate with outstanding academic success and confidence to pursue their post-school pathways.
