Our Visit to Government House

Our Visit to Government House

“Last Thursday, we had the privilege of attending Government House to meet Her Excellency, the Honourable Frances Adamson and her husband Mr Rod Bunten. We were able to converse with other student leaders from various schools across South Australia, and hear from Minister for Education, Blair Boyer. Upon our arrival we learnt that the residence houses Her Excellency and Mr Bunten, and is the oldest continuously occupied Government House in Australia, established in 1840.
The experience provided us with a closer look at the ceremonial and community role of the Governor, but also a chance to appreciate the work and compassion of leaders from around the state and the amazing initiatives each have presented to their schools in the final year of our schooling education. As we come to the end of our captaincy, we are grateful to be recognised amongst the other school leaders who have and will continue to create positive change in our community.”
