Year 1 Students Discover History at the State Library
This term, Year 1 students have been learning about past and present daily life as part of the HASS curriculum. To support their learning students went on a tour of the State Library of South Australia to explore, discover and reflect on artefacts from the past.
STUDENTS REFLECTED:
“At the entrance of the State Library there was a real car. There was a cardboard one to sit in and take a picture. We saw three cars and a Holden sign made out of Lego.” Scout
“We went to the Mortlock Library. We saw some old games and we saw some old maps too. Pin The Tail on the Donkey used to be called The Tail-Less Donkey. There were three levels. The top two are filled with old books.” Onara
“It was fun decorating bookmarks and reading picture books at the State Library.” Emma
“We went on the first level of the Mortlock library. They were people reading some books and doing their homework. It looked like there was a wall of books with lots of colours. Some had pictures on the spine and some had words.” Yasvi
“We went on an excursion to the State Library. We looked at old books and old games.” Maggie
