From the OSHC Director

Hello and welcome to our last edition of our OSHC Newsletter for 2022.

This term seems to be moving very quickly as we come to the end of an eventful year. It is evident the students are becoming more energetic and excited about the fast-approaching end of year activities and of course the Christmas season.

Our staff continue to work tremendously hard to ensure all students are cared for in a safe and supportive environment, providing opportunities for play, creative crafts, active play, homework or just relaxing with a book or quiet game. We allow the students the freedom of choice, the time to do things they really enjoy, particularly after their busy day at school.

The SPIKE Parent Childcare App continues to be the most efficient way to confirm OSHC bookings and cancellations. A gentle reminder that if you would like to make any changes to a Before School Care Booking, the App will only accept edits up to 5:00pm on the previous day. Likewise edits for After School Care close at 12:00pm on the day.

I am also pleased to announce that we have begun to use the SPIKE Parent Childcare App to post Announcements. These will pop up when you open the App on your phone and the iPad when you sign out. I encourage you to have a look and keep abreast of the details posted.

Our OSHC service is licensed to operate until 6:00pm. I ask that you continue to be mindful of our closing time during both the Term OSHC service and Vacation Care program.

Sadly, we have farewelled our staff member Abir who, despite only being with us for a short time, we are most grateful for her contribution to our team and the care of the students.

Our newest staff member, Chelsea, brings a variety of skills and experiences to our service. As you read further into the Newsletter you can meet Chelsea, albeit virtually, where she introduces herself to our community.

Vacation Care programs will be available at the end of Week 6. As always, we suggest you return your application forms as soon as possible as this will help with staffing arrangements and programming.

Although we still have some weeks before the school year finishes, I would like to take this opportunity to wish our OSHC families a happy Christmas and a safe and prosperous 2023.

Ms Cassandra Dwyer-Monaghan
