GLOW AND TELL – An Interactive Light-filled Storytelling Adventure

Blending the magic of light and simplicity of storytelling, our Year 3 students were placed at the centre of this engaging interactive experience right here at SAC. Using UV light in a custom-built tent, the classroom was transformed into an intimate performance space where stories and imagined worlds came alive as glowing drawings appeared on the walls and floor. Following the performance, students created and illustrated their own stories in glowing UV light on the walls and floor of the tent.
Our performer, Evyenia Stefanidis (Greek) shared a unique story exploring themes of family and culture and it was loved by all our students.
Students reflected:
“The lady told us a story using glow sticks. It was very mysterious at first but so much fun!” – Arsema 3IF
“It was amazing to see all the special effects being used.” – Taylor 3IF
“It was very dark which made the glow sticks shine and we could create whatever you wanted.” – Anayah 3IF
“I like that we got to talk about ourselves and we got to be creative.” – Tallulah 3SC
“I really enjoyed the Glow and Tell and I loved the experience when we got to draw with light pens.” – Yelinsa 3SC
“I really had lots of fun drawing with the light and it looked cool when you drew and when you could use your hand and the light to make a shadow.” – Zartasha 3SC
“I thought it was really cool because you can draw on the walls and floor, also you can be creative. I believe that you can draw what you love. You can tell your story to others.” – Veronika 3SC
