Where Science Collides with Art

Year 11 Art students recently visited the Waterhouse Natural Science Art Prize exhibition, a celebrated biennial event that highlights the enduring relationship between scientific research and the creative arts. The exhibition explores themes connected to the environment and humanity’s impact on the natural world, providing students with both inspiration and insight for their current studies.

This experience closely connected with the students’ current Art unit, which focuses on The Natural World alongside the broader theme of Keep Rising. Drawing on ideas and inspiration from the exhibition, students will create artworks that reflect on how the natural world inspires, sustains, and helps them to “Keep Rising”.

These works will later be showcased as part of our SALA Festival exhibition later this year.
