An afternoon with St Carlo Acutis
It is not every day that we get the opportunity to spend time with a saint, but this was the case for the students of 8MF, who recently participated in the Relic Pilgrimage of St Carlo Acutis.

Students learned about the life of this young saint (1991-2006), whose childhood and teen years combined devotion to prayer and acts of charity and service, with time spent with friends and playing sport. We were all challenged to choose our unique path – taking to heart St Carlo’s observation that we “are born as originals but many die as photocopies”. It was inspiring to hear the example of his life and deeply moving to be in the presence of his relic in the Cathedral.
Some student responses were:
“Seeing this relic was an ethereal experience.”
“We felt calmer after leaving the Cathedral, almost as if St Carlo himself had taken on our burdens.”
“I felt inspired and amazed by St Carlo Acutis and how he lived his life.”
