Celebrating Culture and Community at CESA’s Annual Gathering for First Nations Students

The Thriving People event is an annual gathering organised by Catholic Education South Australia. It brings together First Nations students from Years 7 to 10 in Catholic schools, along with their teachers. The event aims to foster connections, celebrate culture, and give students an opportunity to learn from and with Community Elders and Mentors. From dance to songwriting, clapstick carving and weaving, this opportunity is not just about learning new skills but is an opportunity to sit and ‘yarn’ with each other and share stories in a space that is culturally safe and rich.
